About Your Instructor – David Grant
I'm David Grant—an avid salsa social dancer with a lifelong passion for movement, performance, and injury recovery. My academic background includes a degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and a Master’s in Human Performance and Injury Prevention. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked with Olympic and world champions, elite sports academies, and professional dancers from renowned companies like Cirque du Soleil, the Stuttgart Ballet, and international artists like Nerea Perez and Luis Vázquez.
But I don’t just teach this—I’ve lived it. I’ve battled through scoliosis, a lifetime of sports injuries from high-level lacrosse and competitive running (top 3 in my state), and even a tibial plateau fracture where I was told I wouldn’t walk for 8 weeks. With my own methods and the doctor’s approval, I was back dancing salsa in just five weeks.
Today, I run AmericanPTStuttgart and lecture as a docent for the Sports Science Department at the University of Tübingen. This course is everything I wish I had during my toughest injuries—now built for dancers like you.
Don't Just Take My Word, Listen to What My Clients Have to Say

Nerea Know's Professionalism
“Sports Injuries Don’t Take Vacations—So Neither Does He.”
I met David at the Sun Sea Salsa Festival in Rovinj, Croatia. We were getting ready for our big Saturday night Gala performance when, with just one wrong step, my lower back seized up. Everything tightened. I could barely move.
Jose recognized David from Instagram and suggested I reach out—what did I have to lose?
David’s reply? “Sports injuries don’t take vacations, so neither do I.”
Within minutes, we found a spot near the main festival area to meet.
He immediately understood what had happened and knew exactly what to do. Just over an hour later, something gently shifted back into place on its own—and suddenly, I could move again. No pain, full mobility.

Luis Vazquez Only Gets Younger
“David is a True Magician When It Comes to the Human Body.”
I had been dealing with shoulder pain for quite some time, and I’d heard that David had helped Nerea’s back pain in just one session. I’d known him from several of my workshops and had spoken with him often—but this time, I finally asked if he could help with my shoulder.
David immediately understood what was causing the pain and what needed to be done to fix it. He worked on me right in my hotel room—no fancy tools or expensive equipment, just skill and knowledge.
Even more impressive, he didn’t just fix the issue—he taught me how to keep making progress on my own. He sent me clear, easy-to-follow videos with exactly what I needed to do.
David is a true magician when it comes to understanding the human body and getting it to work the way it’s supposed to again.

Sophia Safran
"David is the Person Every Dancer Needs to Know."
David is the guy I go to the moment I even think something might be off. His background working with high-level dancers and athletes shows in every session—but what really sets him apart is how calmly and clearly he explains complex body mechanics. I’m truly grateful to have him not just as a rehab specialist, but also as a friend (in Germany too 😄).
